The TechEmerge team recently announced Keheala’s selection as one of approximately 40 tech companies from 11 countries that are invited to participate in the Demo and Matchmaking event on June 28-29 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

TechEmerge, a World Bank Group initiative, is a first of its kind matchmaking program for proven technology companies around the world that are looking to grow their business in emerging markets. International Finance Corporation’s unique acceleration platform connects startups globally with leading corporations in emerging economies to form new partnerships. The initiative seeks to bring technologies to new markets, and spur sustainable innovation in regions that need it the most.

In total, 295 tech companies from 34 countries applied to the TechEmerge Health Brazil program. Applications went through a competitive evaluation process supported by a global network of 35 independent expert advisors, and in the final stage long-listed company profiles were shared with Brazilian healthcare providers. Over 25 healthcare providers, servicing 19 million patients annually, are participating in the TechEmerge Brazil program.

The selected innovators from around the world have an exclusive opportunity to meet in person and present their solutions to C-suite executives from Brazilian healthcare providers, CEOs of tech companies globally, investors and other strategic partners in the Brazilian healthcare ecosystem.

After the event, there is a pool of US$1M in funding available to support implementation of local pilots of cutting-edge tech solutions that can increase access to affordable quality healthcare and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Keheala’s demonstrated digital intervention addresses underlying drivers of medical adherence rates -- stigma, access to information, motivation and support – with powerful strategies from behavioral economics. It uses widely-accessible feature phones to cost-effectively provide automated reminders, remote self-verification of doses, disease information and individualized follow-up. Remote-monitoring, data and analytics empower healthcare providers to combat epidemics; saving money, saving lives.
